mikogalatea: Yuri from Fire Emblem 16, with a confident smile. It'll take more than a bit of blood loss to stop him. ([FE16] Yuri)

Just cleared SB Chapter 10! \o/

Yes, I got Byleth.

The embarrassing part is that I used a guide to make sure I got them! In my defence, I looked it up because I was worried about the possibility that I could've screwed myself out of it before the map even started, but fortunately that wasn't the case at all. It's also probably not too different from me looking up how to get on to the Crimson Flower route in Houses back in the day, but at this stage I'm probably just huffing copium over the fact that oh no I used a guide my pride as a gamer is tarnished. ^^;

(In case it's not obvious, I'm joking about my gamer's pride being tarnished. It's just that I like to figure things out on my own as much as possible and only use guides as a last resort... or when I'd rather not waste time savescumming with tea parties or expeditions.)

This is also the first time I've gotten below A-rank on a mission, mostly because I was rushing through objectives on this map and didn't kill that many goons as a result, but I'm not particularly bothered by that.

And speaking of killing? I don't want to kill Annette. She and her dad are clearly being set up as being part of the next main story battle, and I can't help getting a bad feeling. D:

Rodrigue dying was a shame, but felt inevitable and so didn't have anywhere near the shock or heartbreak for me as Ingrid's death did. Meanwhile, I'm glad Alois came out of the battle okay and is still the same as ever.

Finally, of fucking course I got Yuri. I wasn't going to come away from this map without him! Whether I got Byleth or completely messed up getting them, I was going to get Yuri either way! And that's a good thing even putting aside the fact he's one of my favourites, because recruiting him finally unlocked Bernie/Dorothea B and that convo was totally worth the wait.

(I've still only seen Yuri and Bernadetta's C-rank in Houses so far, though... one day I will finish that goddamned Silver Snow run!)

Hopefully I can start picking up the pace a bit playing the rest of the route, now there's getting to be less grinding for supports outside of a few characters.

I get that, lol. But recruiting Byleth is REALLY difficult and painful, I had to reset twice during my run before I realized I'd get the bosses beat quicker if I used horseslayers.

Yep. :( And I'm glad Alois survived even if he's not playable this game.

YES, I LOVE THAT. Dorothea and Bernie actually talk about their support from Three Houses, and Yuri! :3

The game does get a bit easier after chapter 10, I feel. I did have to restart chapter 12 due to some bad luck, but this is why even if Physic isn't what it is in 3H, it's still good to have.

I read on AG that there's a specific strategy you need to use, and even that only helps you avoid the wrong spots. Definitely recruiting Byleth there, though. And on Golden Wildfire.

NICE. Jeritza was instrumental in taking out the bosses, I might've sent Ferdinand over to the paladins. (I made him a Wyvern Lord because a flier is always nice to have.)

I dunno, I seem to be at the point where even the short battles are getting tougher; at the very least, the game is throwing hints that I ought to promote more units into master classes as soon as I can. Physic is a bloody lifesaver with its huge radius, though; besides the natural healers, I went out of my way to make sure Hapi and Dorothea learned it early on too, and I'm glad I did.

That will help, yes. Master classes give people quite the boost - I was gonna keep Petra an Assassin, but Trickster's been even better for her.
