a second swim round
Aug. 27th, 2026 08:01 pmI just beat my second playthrough of Star Ocean 2 R!
This time I played Rena's story, and I recruited Celine (again), Opera, Bowman, Ernest, Dias and Noel. It's a run I'd always wanted to do since back when I was playing the PSP version, but never got to til now.
( My honest thoughts, again with possible spoilers )
I still have postgame things to do in both my SO2 R savefiles, but for now I'll put them aside and go for a different game. Part of me feels quite tempted to start another playthrough of SO1 R, either after or even before my planned "playthrough 1.5" of it, though that game's bound to be difficult to get back to after I've gotten so comfortable with SO2 R's quality-of-life improvements.
There's also SO5 and SO6, which have the added bonus of being the only mainline Star Ocean games I've never previously played, meaning they'd be completely fresh experiences for me. I actually like the look of SO6 better, but I still want to play SO5 before it; I've heard that SO5 isn't that great (to say the least), but I want to judge it for myself all the same, and I'd be shocked if I didn't find anything to enjoy about it!
Or I could play something completely different. I've certainly got plenty of options to pick from. ^^;
