It really was! I'm especially in love with Area Zero itself -- the music, the aesthetic, the way it reminds me of the Abyss in Made in Abyss with how mysterious and beautiful and dangerous it is all at once, the way the music reminds me of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon at points... ♥
The banter between the main characters was good, too; I especially liked how Penny came into her own here by offering some fun snark and meta comments. Then the story in this segment had me really feeling for Arven and Miraidon. ;.; (I really like how the box legendary in these games feels like a main character in its own right, complete with character development.)
Area Zero is one of the coolest places in Pokemon, period. <3 And yes, Penny revealing a snarkier side was a lot of fun. After posing as just a shrinking violet while her alter ego was sharper, she doesn't have to hide anymore. I loved her reactions to Nemona and her excitement, and how well they played off each other.
Arven is officially one of my top favorite Pokemon characters EVER. Like he affected me in a way only N, Silver, and to a lesser extent Lillie and Lysandre ever did. :c And yes on the box legendary feeling like a main character. We get a bit of that with Nebby/its evolutions in Alola, but Koraidon/Miraidon spent your entire journey with you. They're the one becoming strong due to the power of friendship like you see in so many shounen and shoujo anime, and it's beautiful.
