my journal's getting full of Ikuhara now
No story spoilers for the new Sarazanmai episode under the cut, but I'm using it anyway in case anyone who reads this doesn't want to know anything at all about it beforehand.

So, there are people in Utena fandom -- particularly on Tumblr, as far as I've seen -- who get very angry about certain kinds of crossover fanwork, right? They can't stand it when yaoi fans draw male characters in classic Anthy/Utena poses or outfits because they think it's inherently taking something away from lesbians, which... well, I can't say I don't see where they're coming from, but I also really don't see how some random fanart of Victor/Yuuri or whoever by some random fans (who're most likely young, female and/or LGBT themselves) could ever have that big or far-reaching an impact. I'm a bi woman myself, for what that's worth.
Anyway, I just wonder what those people must make of certain imagery that came up in today's episode of Sarazanmai.
(Strictly speaking, it was even more reminiscent of the Touga/Saionji sword-drawing than Anthy/Utena, but my point still stands. Besides, Anthy/Utena is what I thought of first when I was watching the sequence in question.)

Good ep today. I'm honestly liking this show quite a bit so far.
