I finished my Utena rewatch. Still one of my favourite anime. ♥

My favourite episodes this time round were ep 9 from the Student Council arc; Kozue's, Shiori's and Wakaba's episodes from the Black Rose arc, with Keiko's as an honourary mention as I think it's underrated; and ep 25, Nanami's two-parter, and Touga's two-parter from the Akio/Apocalypse arc. Not too different from when I first watched the show in 2012, then.
I remember my least favourite episode back in the day being ep 2, because I was taken aback by how much of an asshole Utena came across as, but the subs for the Blu-Ray release worded the most egregious line less harshly than the fansub I'd watched before, so it's not so bad to me now. To be honest, I think my least favourite eps now are 28-29, to the point where I might skip them if my next rewatch doesn't take me another decade. Turns out I still really don't like Ruka...
There hasn't been any drastic change in my favourite or least favourite characters, which is a bit surprising to me, because I would've thought my tastes might've changed in twelve years. The exact placings of my top four might have shuffled a bit, and I don't know exactly what order they might've shuffled to now, but Anthy, Touga, Nanami and Shiori are all still characters I love very much. (Yes, I will still dodge all the tomatoes for Shiori and Touga.)
Shiori and Kozue deserve way more screentime than they got.
I've dedicated an entire document to writing down assorted thoughts as I've gone through the series again, so there's a ridiculous amount of meta I could write and also a bunch of ideas I'd like to turn into fanfic sometime. Right now I don't quite know where to begin, though!

I plan on rewatching the movie and rereading all the manga (first manga, movie-manga, After the Revolution) soon.

They really do. This is one of the reasons I loved After the Revolution so much.

I like how AtR portrayed Shiori. Not only is it fair to her, but I even feel like it validates a good bit of how I always read her series self. Poor Kozue, though...
