I love that Hopes has lots of new supports between pairs of characters who didn't previously get supports together in Houses, including some pairs that fans (myself included in some cases) had been wanting for years.

Still, there'll always be some potential that gets missed, because that's inevitable when we've got so many characters in a big fully-voiced script like this... so I just felt like throwing together a list of character pairs that didn't support in either game that I personally would've really liked to see. This isn't a criticism of the games' support choices at all -- just a "this would've been neat" sort of thing.

*Claude/Linhardt (they both dig their mysteries, and I'm honestly shocked they still don't have supports; actually, I would've been down for Linny having more conversations with guys in general, though I'm not sure who else would make sense besides Claude)
*Claude/Yuri (I'm even more shocked these two still don't have supports, what with their similarities)
*Dedue/Marianne (two quiet kindhearted nature lovers with low self-esteem; what's not to love?)
*Annette/Dorothea (they both love singing!)
*Yuri/Manuela (would have great potential to make me cry if it's even a little bit like Yuri/Dorothea in Houses; I really think her heart would go out to him)
*Balthus/Manuela (he's into older women and she's older than him... do the maths)
*Constance/Shamir (I adore Petra/Coco and would be interested in seeing Coco interact with someone from the other nation involved in the conflict that destroyed House Nuvelle... and I do realise this would make her the third Wolf to get supports with Shamir! I enjoyed Hapi/Shamir and Balthus/Shamir, by the way; the former really took me by surprise in a good way, and the latter was pretty amusing)
*Hapi/Marianne (they both more-or-less feel like they're cursed)

The following feel less plausible to me, but they're still pairs I've had at least some passing thought about all the same:

*Yuri/Edelgard (she'd be the last main lord he'd talk to or get along with, and I say that as someone who adores both characters; that said, I do think they could have interesting conversations if they did talk, for reasons I've touched on before)
*Constance/Dimitri (something about mental health issues, perhaps?)
*Yuri/Flayn (I don't even know what they'd talk about, I just think the idea is cute)
*Yuri/Mercedes (probably less a plausible support pair and more a fanfic concept on my part based on particular route-specific headcanons I have; still, could be kind of interesting)

For the record, I went ahead and spoiled myself on who supports whom in Hopes around the time I was finishing my SB run, though I naturally didn't spoil myself on the conversations themselves.

I was so, SO upset when I found out the two have a support rank but no conversation or even unique dialogue. D:

I'd forgotten I liked the idea of these two before, and seen shippy fanart and fic for them. :c It would've been cute.

I personally wish we could've had Ashe/Edelgard. SB really piled on the bittersweetness for a while, he gets to keep his adoptive father and is happy about it, but he's hurting about betraying all his friends (Ingrid and Dedue even get quite angry lines at him during battle if he fights them). Maybe Edelgard going "listen you can go back to them, I'll even let you throw me under the cart for forcing you" and Ashe going "if I really didn't want to I'd have let you kill me, and if I go back I might have to fight Lonato."

(At least Rodrigue gets a sweet line if Ashe confronts him, he understands Ashe's reasons.)

Here's a couple I would have liked to see in either game:

Houses:
* Edelgard/Mercedes: This one may seem weird because Mercedes is a devout follower of the goddess' teachings and Edelgard is almost the opposite of that, but I think Mercedes might be comfortable telling Edelgard about the happier times in her and Jeritza/Emile's lives.
* Raphael/Balthus: It'd be like the Balthus/Holst supports in Hopes, but replace all the talk about Hilda with talk about "the meats". Oh, and maybe an arm-wrestling/flexing contest or two for kicks.

Hopes:
* Monica/Petra: Maybe something about the two of them bonding over the fallout from the Dagda-Brigid war, their respective relationships with Duke Gerth, and/or their shared love of swimming/hunting.
* Monica/Constance: Monica helps Constance test out every weird magic spell she knows, and then keeps detailed records on the most useful/entertaining ones and how to replicate them.

I do like your ideas of Claude/Yuri, Constance/Shamir, and Annette/Dorothea. They all sound like they have lots of potential.
