even more supports

mikogalateaComing up to Chapter 8's story battle in my Deer run, which puts me a little under two-thirds of the way through the academy phase now! It's nice when I can blow through the early parts of the game relatively quickly, and Claude's interest in the underlying lore is making this route a good one so far. :3 I've recruited Ingrid into my class, too.
Now for -- you guessed it -- yet another support report!

Lorenz/Lysithea B is a bit of a step back from their C, as there's a lot of "stop treating me like a kid" from her, but it ends on almost as ominous a note as the C-rank (the music cuts out and everything...) which made me want to see their B+ as soon as I possibly could. The first B-rank showed potential for the rest of the chain to be good as it was, which made me very glad to see considerably later that their B+ is really good!
On a more general note, I still like Lysithea a lot, but as I've been getting a wider spread of her supports than I got to see in CF, I've been wondering if many of them just get off to a bad start or if they really are a bit hit-or-miss. =/ Her Lorenz chain has me hoping it's the former.
Lorenz/Marianne B is an improvement on the C-ranks. It seems he's no longer looking at her as a project to work on; now he thinks her beauty comes from within and she's perfect just the way she is, which she admits makes her kind of happy once he's left the scene. I'm starting to see what other people see in this ship, although I still think I prefer them both with others.
Lorenz/Ferdinand should've had an A-rank. 'Nuff said.
Ignatz/Raphael B is basically more of the same as their C-rank. Iggy keeps avoiding Raph, Raph tells him to knock it off, Iggy still feels responsible for what happened to Raph's parents, Raph tells him to quit worrying about it and be friends with him like they used to. Raph emphatically does not believe in "sins of our fathers" bullshit, and as I saw in the Death Toll paralogue just last night, he refuses to hold anything against anyone for his parents' deaths.
Yuri/Hapi B is beautiful. ;.; This is my favourite ship within the Wolves now.
Flayn/Raphael C is really cute and funny and I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Hapi and Constance have a cute friendship going on as of their B. I don't ship it romantically just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if I did end up doing so later. Hapi is pretty comfortable around Coco. :3
Linhardt/Marianne B is nice enough, but I also found it weirdly underwhelming? Might just be that I was expecting more from it than I got. =/ He's sweet with her, and I like that he's surprisingly respectful of her boundaries despite his being super curious about her Crest; but on the other hand, it feels a bit like it's all about her Crest? I'd still like to see their A-rank, although I'm a lot more invested in where Hapi/Linny goes at this point. (On a side note, LOL at Linny being out of breath after just pulling up a few veggies. My boy has no stamina!)
Yuri/Dorothea B basically has her nudging him into singing for down-on-their-luck kids again, this time as a stand-in for her because she's injured. I guess their dynamic at this point is cute enough but not that much to write home about, or at least the more interesting elements of it are pretty understated; that said, that "let the player make some connections themself" aspect does have its own appeal. I still really want their A-rank, even if it's likely to kick me in the heart from what I've heard of it...
I wanted Byleth to hug Ignatz and Hapi in his respective B-ranks with them. Especially Hapi.
Flayn/Ferdinand C doesn't stand out too much beyond some amusing mental images, but I have come to realise that Flayn gets some really cute supports in general. To think I didn't pay much attention to her in my CF run because I knew she wouldn't stick around there... between my AM run and this current run, I've actually grown quite fond of her.
Claude/Flayn C is interesting. She's such a curious person, and he can tell she's more than just some sheltered young lady. There's also a little bit about Seteth policing what material gets to go in the library.
Balthus now has B-ranks with all his fellow Wolves! Everyone in that house plays off each other so well; they're easily my next favourite house after the Eagles. :3
Claude/Leonie B is a good one involving a discussion about the Goddess. They're both such great characters; again, I'm really not seeing how so many people in the fandom can write off Leonie...
Cyril/Lysithea B is adorable! They both come out of this support so happy and I can't wait for their A-ranks. ♥
Flayn/Ignatz C is pretty cute as well. He blatantly fancies her on some level, and there's something about her getting him to say good things about Cethleann. ^^;
Lorenz/Dorothea B went in the sort of direction I hoped it would, so I'm pretty satisfied with it. Seeing Byleth/Lorenz B a little while afterwards makes me feel even more satisfied with where this chain is promising to go, because Dorothea isn't afraid to explicitly point out that Lorenz puts way too much stock in noble status. I'm glad pretty much all the ships I picked out for my tentative Pair Up Every Last One Of Them plan are working out! The only swaps I'll do to it at this point are having Claude/Marianne and Hilda/Balthus instead. :D
Hilda/Cyril B... *siiiiigh* this is definitely one of those chains I'm only doing for the sake of having done it. Their interactions make me so uncomfortable. I also wish more characters wouldn't let Hilda keep getting away with making everyone else do her work for her, as I really don't find it as endearing as it's probably supposed to be.
Raphael/Marianne B is cute enough, what with his adventures in trying to talk birdy.
Claude/Ingrid C is honestly pretty bad. It mostly just has her giving him one hell of an earful for not conducting himself as she thinks a noble house leader ought to, which makes me think she was a lot happier with Dimitri. =/
Ingrid/Raphael C is another one where she's ragging on a guy for his conduct -- this time Raphael's not behaving enough like a proper knight for her liking -- though I don't find it quite as bad as her Claude one. Maybe that's because she also gets a bit flustered at points here, whereas the Claude support was pure angryface on her part? I guess Raphael being Raphael took some edge off it, too.
Ingrid/Dorothea C is... okay, I guess. There isn't really that much to it apart from promising to doll Ingrid up (as if that doesn't already get pushed on her elsewhere, like her Annette supports and the Lions version of ball night) and I already feel like more interesting things could've been done with this chain considering their shared paralogue. I've heard the B-rank is pretty lousy, but I'll see for myself when I actually get it.
Yuri/Ingrid C is decently cute, and a better showing for her after her C-ranks with Claude and Raphael. This one touches a little on House Rowe.
Raphael/Leonie B is very cute! He cries with joy from getting a thank-you letter from his sister! What's not to like here?
Lorenz/Ignatz B is also very nice, and I swear their dynamic is way underappreciated. Lorenz is so accommodating to Iggy!

Note to self: stick Coco on to Byleth as an adjutant so she can hopefully get that one last level-up she needs to finally be a dark flier!Not least because I've heard that her and Yuri's paralogue is best done with plenty of flying units...
