[community profile] threesentenceficathon is back again this year! \o/

I've been looking forward to this! Sadly, I don't know how much I'll be able to participate this time because I had the rotten luck of injuring my right arm in an unpleasant slip-and-fall accident the other day, but I'm still taking stock of prompts that catch my interest and thinking of what I'd like to do if I can.

Whumptober 2024

Angstober 2024

Mostly posting the links here for reference and easy access, though I haven't decided yet if I'm actually going to do anything for either of them. That said, I do fancy the idea of doing something, even if it's just a single fic! I have a particular character in mind to have as a whump subject at least once, too. *ahem*
mikogalatea: Linhardt from Fire Emblem W3H, being the cutest sleepyhead while on an expedition. ([FEW3H] Linhardt)
Meme grabbed from Sara:

Give me a ship and I'll write 10 different categories of fic in one sentence each.

1. Angst
2. AU
3. Crack!fic
4. Crossover
5. First Time
6. Fluff
7. Humour
8. Hurt/Comfort
9. Smut
10. UST

I can't guarantee I'll do these too quickly, all things considered, but I quite fancy having a go all the same; it makes me feel a bit nostalgic for the 1sentence writing challenges from several years ago.

Also, don't be afraid to send me multiple ships. That said, it might be easiest for me to do this with Three Houses/Three Hopes ships right now.
mikogalatea: Kyouko and Sayaka from Madoka Magica, as stylised red-and-blue silhouettes. ([MadoMagi] Kyouko/Sayaka)
Give me a pairing and a physical/emotional injury and I will write a hurt/comfort drabble for them.

I'll probably have the easiest time writing for FE3H, Dangan Ronpa or Utena.

Depending on what prompts I get, drabbles/ficlets may come quickly or they may take longer, but I'll certainly have a go either way. I do want to write more again!

I've seen a few people jump on to the shiny new bandwagon for [community profile] 100fandoms, a challenge for writing 100 fics for 100 different fandoms...

... and I've gotten aboard, too!

It's an intimidating number of prompts, to be sure, but it's low-pressure and doesn't have any time limit on it, so I can peck away at it whenever I want.

As for the sheer number of fandoms... between everything on my fandom list, other canons I've consumed and liked well enough despite them not being on the list, and new canons I continue to try out and/or get into, I actually think a hundred different ones is potentially doable for me! Not saying I'll get anything done quickly, but as I already mentioned, it's a very low-pressure challenge anyway, so no rush there. ^^;

On the topic of new canons, I've been reading a lot more books lately, thanks to getting a card at the local library like I said I was going to. I should write about what I've read lately in the near future.

I had a decent Christmas, in case anyone was wondering. A fairly quiet one with my brother, my sister-in-law and my doggies, but that's fine by me.

A couple of unrelated assorted things:

1. I've stopped using Tumblr. I haven't deleted my blog outright, but I have all but abandoned it now; I haven't logged in for over a week now, and I don't even miss it. I never fully liked the site anyway, nor was I a fan of basically having to check my dashboard all the time to stay caught up with everything (not that the dashboard was even much good at keeping everything in chronological order anymore, the last few times I looked) so quite frankly, good riddance.

2. I'm trying to read more novels now. I intend to get a card at the local library in the new year, and I've been taking note of people's book recs here. Of course, I'll still be into all my games and manga and anime, but it's always nice to have different kinds of stories to get stuck into. :3

3. Speaking of anime, I still need to finish the other four series I was following this season (Banana Fish, Bloom into You, Release the Spyce, Double Decker!), though it's only one or two eps apiece so it shouldn't take all that long. I'm impressed I actually stuck with six shows all the way through...

4. This year has been a crummy one in certain ways, but one good thing that has come out of it is that I've written a lot more fanfic. There's some pieces I did for [community profile] fandomgiftbox that I'm pretty happy with, and I'd definitely like to do it again if it comes back for 2019. Actually, fanfic is another incentive for me to read more; not only does it potentially give me more fandoms to enjoy, but reading novels always has this effect of making me feel more inspired to write.

Dunno what else I could add... I want to make a post about the Switch at some point, because me talking about Switch games is way overdue, but that'll have to be a separate thing as I'm sure it'll be a long one.

For now, here's to hoping 2019 will be better than 2018.
