I had a decent Christmas, in case anyone was wondering. A fairly quiet one with my brother, my sister-in-law and my doggies, but that's fine by me.
A couple of unrelated assorted things:
1. I've stopped using Tumblr. I haven't deleted my blog outright, but I
have all but abandoned it now; I haven't logged in for over a week now, and I don't even miss it. I never fully liked the site anyway, nor was I a fan of basically having to check my dashboard
all the time to stay caught up with everything (not that the dashboard was even much good at keeping everything in chronological order anymore, the last few times I looked) so quite frankly, good riddance.
2. I'm trying to read more novels now. I intend to get a card at the local library in the new year, and I've been taking note of people's book recs here. Of course, I'll still be into all my games and manga and anime, but it's always nice to have different kinds of stories to get stuck into. :3
3. Speaking of anime, I still need to finish the other four series I was following this season (
Banana Fish,
Bloom into You,
Release the Spyce,
Double Decker!), though it's only one or two eps apiece so it shouldn't take all that long. I'm impressed I actually stuck with six shows all the way through...
4. This year has been a crummy one in certain ways, but one good thing that
has come out of it is that I've written a lot more fanfic. There's some pieces I did for
fandomgiftbox that I'm pretty happy with, and I'd definitely like to do it again if it comes back for 2019. Actually, fanfic is another incentive for me to read more; not only does it potentially give me more fandoms to enjoy, but reading novels always has this effect of making me feel more inspired to write.
Dunno what else I could add... I want to make a post about the Switch at some point, because me talking about Switch games is way overdue, but that'll have to be a separate thing as I'm sure it'll be a long one.
For now, here's to hoping 2019 will be better than 2018.
