mikogalateaI'm on SB Chapter 6 in Hopes now -- just trying to grind a few supports before I take a look at the main mission. (On that note, please don't spoil anything about the main mission of any chapter I'm currently on, unless I say I've looked at the mission in question and want some tips, and even then I'll be very specific about what I want to know.)
Quick note to myself first: hiding the UI during cutscenes and support conversations hides the textbox as well, so you no longer have any right to complain about the textbox getting in the way of making new icons!

While there was no way I wasn't going to recruit Ashe in last chapter's main battle, talking to him at camp at the start of this chapter made me feel a bit bad about having done so. =/ He's unhappy about being here, he isn't sure what he's actually fighting for at this point, and to twist the knife I picked the wrong dialogue option and really pissed him off. It doesn't help that he doesn't have support conversations with anyone in my current roster besides Shez, either.
On the other hand, Lonato's line about not wanting to lose another son tugged at me, and Dorothea was pretty glad that Ashe could be persuaded, so it's not all bad. I just hope he can feel better about things further down the line... and as much as he was pissed at Lonato for betraying the Kingdom, at least the man's still alive for now in this version of events, which is a lot more than I can say for his fate in Houses. Again, it's interesting how characters' fortunes can radically change between the two games.
Meanwhile, I'm enjoying Hapi's and Constance's new supports with people. Hapi and Bernadetta in particular are absolutely adorable. ♥
Also finally had some fully successful expeditions! Manuela wanted to go on a date first, and I managed to get perfect with her through sheer luck (or uncanny intuition? I swear I only had a cursory review of her likes and dislikes beforehand, and I don't recall ever having tea with her in Houses either)... then Petra wanted to go on a date again a battle or two later, and this time I caved and looked up a guide to get perfect because I felt bad about completely fucking up with her before.I'm not that bothered about spoiling myself on who's playable, as I actually already looked at some of the datamine stuff from the demo before the full game dropped. It's plot spoilers that I really want to avoid for now.
Right now I'm in a slight panic trying to grind and get B-rank supports with conversations, because I've read that time-limited supports are a thing again and there's at least one B-rank that expires as early as the end of Chapter 8 (on Golden Wildfire, to be specific there, but I wanna be prepared for any similar situations coming up on SB)! There's some B-ranks mostly involving old favourite pairs I want to get ASAP (e.g. Hubert/Edelgard, Linhardt/Dorothea... I really want to see Edelgard/Monica B too), and since this is still only Chapter 6, I think I should be safe if the other B-ranks with conversations are at least halfway there. I'm so thankful for the fact you can clearly see progress towards support levels in this game!
Time to replay yet more old battles and abuse volunteering and the training grounds as much as I can, then...
