Damn, I'm being really slow at getting through Three Hopes. To be fair, it's partly because RL things have been kicking me right where it hurts lately, but even so... =/
Anyway, I'm currently looking at the main story battle for SB Chapter 7 (but haven't started the actual fight yet) and I'm more than a bit scared.

I'm not the biggest fan of maps involving racing against time to get to friendly units before they die horribly at the best of times...
Two things I wanna ask:
1. What's the better strategy to use -- the one that heals Leopold and his buddies, or the one that has them breaking through? Since I will of course be recruiting all three of the Deer kids who can be persuaded here, that only leaves enough points for one or the other out of the Leopold strats.
2. I don't mind being spoiled on this very specific point because it's kind of foreshadowed anyway -- does Byleth show up on this map, and if so, how necessary is it to beat them?
Forgot to mention it in the last post, but I couldn't beat Byleth in Chapter 5. I've done every other side objective that's come up so far, but that one I had to give up on; while I gave it my best shot and managed to get Byleth down to roughly half their health, they dealt out so much damage and I'd already burned through all Shez's heals and most of my other units were needed elsewhere at the time, so it was way too dangerous to keep trying. Don't forget I'm playing Classic mode, too; can't exactly take too many risks if my units literally die if they're killed!
Chapter 6 wasn't too bad. It got a bit hectic in the early part when Balthus and Ignatz showed up in relatively quick succession, but I managed it fine and got them and Lorenz recruited. The great remix of one of my favourite map themes from Houses made this battle quite enjoyable for me, actually.
I'm also kind of glad Lorenz's dad didn't die, because I would've felt bad otherwise. I notice that the game is usually quite explicit about the fates of defeated units -- whether they retreat, surrender or get captured, or indeed just straight-up die like Acheron (not that anything of value was lost along with him!)... which makes me wonder a little about what would've happened to the characters I recruited if I hadn't persuaded them.
I did both of the paralogues that became available in Chapter 7. I was expecting them to be hard because of the fixed units and high-ish enemy levels, but the Bernie+Monica one wasn't too bad and the Dorothea+Manuela one was actually pretty fun to do.
Other than that, I've mainly just been trying to grind a few more B-rank supports along with C-ranks for the fresh recruits. I already ship Constance and Lorenz. ^^; (Oh, and I should mention: please don't spoil me any further on supports I haven't gotten yet, including who has conversations with whom!)

Wonder if my progress will get any quicker or if it's going to keep being slow like this...
