Indeed. I remember Star Ocean 1 being a late-cycle Super Famicom game, hence its first rerelease on PSP feeling more like a "true glow-up" in comparison to the PSP release of Star Ocean 2, which looked almost like it did when it was first on PlayStation, but with improved localization.
