(no subject)

I'm feeling pretty scared for the internet right now. Maybe I'm just being cynical/paranoid/what-have-you, but I can't help worrying that, no matter how much people are fighting against SOPA, those at the top might end up getting their way anyway. D: Plus, being as I'm not American, there's only so much I can do...

At least the internet strikes and such got mentioned on the news here last night, and not just a passing mention, either. The fact that the protests against SOPA have caused enough noise to get news articles outside of North America is good, I think, because these laws would have an impact everywhere in the world. Those at top really can't ignore that...

In less mopey news...

As I'd planned, my DW has become the paid journal, and I've let the paidness on LJ expire and turned it into a plus account instead. I'll still be around on LJ, of course - it's just that most of my posts from now on will be crossposts from here at DW.

I felt a bit bad about blitzing nearly all my LJ icons, but heck, I wanted to at least be able to choose what I'd get to keep, rather than being forced to stick with the first handful of icons I'd ever uploaded. I also at least changed my default; partly to make it up to myself for turning my LJ into a sea of defaults, and partly because, namesake or not, I'd frankly been getting a bit sick of the Galatea icon.

So naturally, I've taken advantage of having the extra icon space at DW instead. 100 slots is still a teensy bit tight compared with what I'd had on LJ up until the other day, but even so, I've got room to upload just about all the icons I really want to have. ^^;

Hopefully I'll be making myself at home at DW and posting more often now! (Knock on wood...)
