mikogalateaI'm feeling pretty scared for the internet right now. Maybe I'm just being cynical/paranoid/what-have-you, but I can't help worrying that, no matter how much people are fighting against SOPA, those at the top might end up getting their way anyway. D: Plus, being as I'm not American, there's only so much I can do...
At least the internet strikes and such got mentioned on the news here last night, and not just a passing mention, either. The fact that the protests against SOPA have caused enough noise to get news articles outside of North America is good, I think, because these laws would have an impact everywhere in the world. Those at top really can't ignore that...

Date: 2012-01-19 05:33 pm (UTC)"Approaching Monday's crucial Senate vote there are now 35 Senators publicly opposing PIPA. Last week there were 5. And it just takes just 41 solid "no" votes to permanently stall PIPA (and SOPA) in the Senate."
The Senate returns next week, so we still have time to get that last 6! :D
