Sarazanmai's first episode... sure was a thing!

I actually enjoyed it, more than I thought I would. I feel like by rights I should've been icked right out by key parts of it, especially considering my misgivings about Ikuhara, but for now I'm on this ridiculous ride. I'm hesitant to admit it, but you win this round, Ikuni. >>;

Also, have a little attempt at a Smart Person observation that I made while watching below the cut!

So this episode was full of boxes, right? And when Kazuki and Toi are kappa'd and we're introduced to the whole spirit world thing or whatever, Keppi mentions how they're currently both alive and dead at the same time, right?

I couldn't help thinking of Schrödinger's cat.

Dunno how relevant (if at all) that might be to the big picture, though.

Now I'm pretty much obliged to finally start Yuri Kuma Arashi and give it at least a bit of a chance...

I was surprised how few problematic elements were in Sarazanmai thus far, I expected much more noncon fanservice.

Sarazanmai's first episode... sure was a thing!

I think that's the best description available to humanity at this point. But I came out of it with the same general feeling: WTF was this but I also really want to watch the second episode now.

Re. the boxes, I think it's relevant to remember the Penguindrum boys and their eventual fate, too.

You'll probably want to watch Yurikuma dubbed, because I had the feeling I missed half the details needed to understand it when I watched it subbed.
