Just making short notes to myself about what I really need to make icons of once I finish Scarlet Blaze and transfer all my Hopes screencaps over:

I'm still on Chapter 13, but I think that means I'm on the route's home stretch now, or at least heading towards it. Just making a final push towards finishing supports in the process of grinding levels, and hopefully it won't be too much longer now! Still think it might be August by the time I clear the route, though, slowcoach that I am!

Bernadetta/Marianne was shockingly adorable, they really built something from the whole "anxious girl and shy girl should interact" deal and let them really be comfortable with each other.

And Petra/Constance was brilliant. Petra shows a new side to herself in this game. It seems like when she was at the Academy she felt stronger, possibly because she had lots more time to learn and get to know people. Here she's thrust into a political situation FAST and, well, fighting alongside her dad's killer.

Finally, Ashe/Yuri further validates my plan to someday write a KazeKi fusion, minus the sad ending. Sunshine boy demanding jaded pretty boy take care of his life, plus it's been all but said Yuri sleeps around AND was sexually abused...

It's amazing how quickly Bernie and Marianne got over the hurdle of "can these two shy girls even start a conversation" and hit it off, and they were really lifting each other up by their A-rank. ♥ Marianne finally has another female friend! And to think I'd never shipped Bernie with a girl before, either, though I don't know how much of that was me thinking of her as the token straight girl of the Eagles and how much of it was just down to all her old supports with girls coming across as squarely platonic. ^^;

Petra understanding Coco and relating to her was just the start of how much I loved that A-rank. It's almost certainly one of my favourite new ships from this game by this point; I even feel like it's giving my beloved Petra/Dorothea some competition!

I've always liked Petra a lot, but Hopes does such a good job of rounding out her character. Sharing her opinion on chivalry with Hubert, having such a great knack for picking up languages that Linny thinks she'd do well as a scholar... those and the Coco support really show what an intelligent person she is. Her new supports with Caspar are excellent as well; he very understandably doesn't want her or Leopold to kill each other, but at the same time, Petra is allowed to be angry and I loved how he offers to let her vent at him if she ever needs that outlet.

The Ashe/Yuri supports were a lot more serious than I expected them to be, though that might just be because I feel like supports in this game skew more towards the cuter side of things on the whole. That's certainly not a complaint either way; I loved their conversations and the supports successfully sold me on the ship after I'd mostly just thought they were a particularly sad missed opportunity in Houses.

Yeah, I can't say I don't see the Serge/Gilbert parallels in their dynamic. At least Ashe and Yuri don't really have an Auguste figure; Thales is the closest thing to one I can think of in this setting, but even he isn't a rapist or anything. (He clearly disregards bodily autonomy in other ways, though... poor Edelgard.)

I have yet to unlock the supports in my file, but before Azure Gleam I'm going to play Record Keeper mode a bit. I need screenshots.

YES. I kept hoping it would be Petra deciding on her own to back down because she didn't want to rob Caspar of his father, but her acknowledging her anger and Caspar telling her just to let it out on him was amazing, too. Caspar knows she has the right to be angry, he's even surprised when she stays her hand before ending him. But considering Leopold the concern for her safety is...valid.

Nope. Originally I was going to reluctantly Ron-The-Death-Eater Count Rowe, but after actually meeting the man I just can't. He's not a good guy, he and Yuri clearly didn't get along, but I'd chalk that up to neglect.

YEP. I remember when FE fandom was obsessed with headcanoning villains as rapists, but Thales is proof that a villain can do horrible things to a heroine's body without it being sexual. D: (So's Solon, in fact. Poor Lysithea.)
