I can't believe "Toothpaste Emblem" turned out to be real. ^^; I'd seen the leak for it before, but had never been sure how to take it. It's coming out surprisingly soon, too... I'll see how it is, though I'll miss Fódlan and I was honestly sad to not see anything about Hopes DLC.

In other news, yay Rain Code, yay new Octopath Traveler, and yay for the new Zelda game finally having an actual title to go with its release date.

I'm not surprised about no Hopes DLC, but I would've liked to see some. :( If only little stuff like certain NPCs becoming playable units.

The new FE is basically Heroes on a console, from the looks of it. Shamelessly anime, too.

I was huffing hopium for new missions and the like, plus I'd heard from fans of the greater Musou series that it's normal for its games to get DLC. =/

At the risk of sounding incredibly whiny, this has me feeling a bit sorry for Hopes. It hasn't even been out for three months to date, yet it feels kind of like it's getting tossed aside ASAP for the next shiny new thing coming up. It's a spinoff game, sure, but even the first FEW (which I never played and don't intend to) got DLC...

I'm getting a strong Awakening vibe from Engage so far, between the unabashedly animu aesthetic, the seemingly lighter tone compared to Fódlan, and the references back to the rest of the series.

They haven't said there won't be any DLC, so maybe we'll get it down the line.

And I don't think Hopes is going to be tossed aside that easily. Engage doesn't come out till January, and just because hype dies down doesn't mean the games themselves are forgotten. People are still writing Fates and Tellius fic, and Heroes brought Genealogy into the popularity fold.

Definitely. And next year is technically Awakening's 10th anniversary even if they're off by a few months.

I guess it still isn't impossible that there'll be DLC -- there's still the Tokyo Game Show this week as another venue for potential announcements, for example -- but I would've thought a Nintendo game would have its DLC announced in the Nintendo Direct, and since it wasn't, that decreases the probability of it happening by quite a bit...

I meant the devs and marketing people tossing Hopes aside, not the fandom -- sorry I didn't make that clear. I'm sure with Houses's popularity that Hopes will keep getting at least a decent bit of love from fans.

Awakening's tenth anniversary was actually this year if you go by the original Japanese release date! (Almost feels weird to think back to when game releases weren't simultaneous, despite the fact it wasn't that long ago!) Funnily enough, it had occured to me that Awakening was that old now, but I didn't think to link Engage to it at all; the leak had called it a celebration of the franchise's 30th anniversary, so I was linking it more to that despite the fact it's off by a few years.

We can still hope. I won't let it get me too down if we don't get Three Hopes DLC, but I won't stop hoping either. An extra quest delving more into Shez and Arval's story and playable NPCs would be the dream. :c

Ohhh, gotcha. Yeah, they are releasing this new one pretty quickly. Hopefully they don't ignore Three Hopes entirely for it, they still need to bring it to Heroes!

I had a feeling I was off. I know the US release was in April 2013, yeah. But I read that Engage was meant to be a full stop 30th anniversary game for the franchise but it got pushed back a few years.
