Got a total of 12 badges in Violet now -- five Gym, four Titan and three Star! I'm about to face Grusha next, and then I'll be going further north for Ryme and Ortega before I think of wrapping up any storylines.

Might go looking for ominous stakes, too. I wonder if it's okay to start pulling them up now? If so, it would save me having to go back for the ones I've already found!

Grusha is HARD, just a warning. I had to restart because I misjudged his Tera Pokemon. x3 You might have an easier time, though, since you picked the fire starter.

Even with Skeledirge, I found him quite tough -- mostly because his Pokémon's levels were much higher than I expected! My team was only around lv40, a good 7-8 levels below his. That Beartic was a motherfucker with its coverage moves, and I had to use a Max Revive to bring Skeledirge back afterwards (sorry Flamigo, you at least did a good job getting rid of Frosmoth quickly) but it pulled through for me against the remaining foes.

Grusha himself is so pretty, though. I ended up taking a lot of screenshots of him. ^^;

Gotta do some grinding before Ryme or Ortega, then! At least there are Chansey near Ortega's base that give fucktons of EXP, plus the need to grind is a good excuse for me to go looking for more creepy stakes to pull up!

(Meanwhile, it's just occured to me that I haven't attended any classes yet. My player character is a student who doesn't go to school. I wonder what the academy faculty would think to that?)

YEAH, the levels really caught me. I feel like for an open-world game the levels ought to scale for whatever order you face the gyms in. On the other hand, I guess players who live for challenge appreciate it.

Creepy stakes...I haven't found any of those yet unless those are the Tera Shards I've been finding?

(LOL, I attended most of the classes and midterms lategame. And got a ton of faculty events and interactions I missed out on!)

Yeah, since you can ostensibly do the gyms/bases/Titans in any order you want, I would've preferred a scaling system too. It is what it is, though.

The stakes tend to be in obscure or hard-to-reach places, so I'm not too surprised you haven't found any yet. You'll know 'em when you see 'em, as they have an eerie coloured glow about them. They're connected to these games' legendary quartet.

(I'll probably check out the classes once I've beaten the last Titan in the lake, which is next on my personal list after Ryme and Ortega.)

Yep. It's the first open-world Pokemon game so they didn't think of everything. (It goes the other way too, I was surprised Katy was so low level. I fought Brassius first because the resemblance to Hubert pulled me in hard.)
