hurting fictional characters the whole dang month

I worked on Angstober all through the last month, and somehow, I managed to do all 31 days of it!

I'm pretty amazed at myself, really. I only expected to do a scattered handful of prompts, and while I'd given myself a vague goal of "do as many as I can", I did not think going in that I'd write for all 31 prompts -- but then I got more ideas and filled in more and more on my planning sheet, and it ultimately did end up being all of them. ^^;

Out of those 31 fics, 11 are for The Hundred Line (which I knew I'd write a decent amount for, as it's my current big love and I'd been wanting an excuse to start writing for it for a while; those fics were also generally the ones I most enjoyed working on), 8 are for Revolutionary Girl Utena, and the rest are for assorted other fandoms, including a decent handful I've never posted fics for before. I gotta say, I enjoyed branching out a little more than I normally do!

On the other hand, I do think this'll be the last time I ever do a challenge like this for an entire month straight. Writing fics to be posted on 31 consecutive days was pretty tiring for me, and it felt like it took over my life quite a bit during that time. Still, I'm impressed at myself for keeping my writing muse up for this long, because it was definitely for longer than I'm usually able to keep it up for!

Now I'm done with Angstober, my next little project as far as writing fanfic goes will be to finally complete some pieces for monthlysupergo that I'd originally intended to do back in... uh... 2020. ^^; I'm aiming to do this sometime in the next month, but definitely before the end of the year, because I don't need these going on to be six years late or more! I've already done the first drafts for two of them and am halfway through a third, though, and I've got five fics to do for this in total, so it shouldn't take too much to get the rest finished up.

After that, I want to finally make a few fills for threesentenceficathon before the year is up, because I feel bad that I didn't get to make any fills for it this year earlier on. (My broken arm back in January had such rotten timing...) I'm aiming for at least 5-10 of these, so I'll see how I go with them.

Once those are out of the way, that should free me up to do whatever I want in terms of fics, whether that's writing more spontaneous pieces, chipping away at 100fandoms again, or even just doing memes on Tumblr or whatever.

I noticed! Congrats on finishing the whole month! But yeah, it's a LOT of writing. My method was to write in advance so they'd be ready to post.

I need to do some threesentenceficathon fills before the year ends, too. I didn't do as many as I would've liked to. And I've got 100fandoms and 100ships to focus on. Good thing those don't come with deadlines.

I did try to have a certain amount written in advance, but then it basically turned into me having to finish a fic nearly every day so I could stay 3-5 fics ahead of what needed posting -- which put some pressure on me, but at least gave me a chance to have each fic done a few days before it was due so I could give it a decent second pass before posting. One of my regrets from last year's Angstober was that the first couple of fics were written literally on the day (since I made my decision to have a go at it at pretty much the last minute) so I didn't give myself much opportunity to polish them up a bit more.

Yeah, the great thing about 100fandoms is that it's extremely low-pressure and doesn't have due dates on anything. Just as well, because I set up my tracking table for it back in 2019 and have still only posted two fics for it to date, nearly seven years later!
